A case study on directed sandtray play for improvement of parent reflection of mothers with insecure adult attachment

Abstract
This study consists of a small number of case studies, and its purpose is to improve the level of parent reflection by performing the directed sandtray play on mothers with insecure adult attachment. The participants consist of 2mother with insecure adult attachment in a screening test. The program was designed as a 10 session therapy, and performed for 50 minutes per session, twice weekly. The theme of each session was related with rearing experiences of the past and the present. The results of this study are as follows. First, changes of parent reflection verified by the scale of parent reflection level improved the parent reflection level after the directed sandtray play. Second, mothers` inner experiences of the session formed 4 themes, 8 subthemes and 16 subcategories. The main themes were unprotected relations, reappraising of relations, past and present connections, and improvement of current relationships.
